Easy Tips To Beat The Cold And Flu Season

Flu season is here once more, and many of you may have already taken your annual flu shot. But if you are one of those people who are exposed to germs from flu and colds on a daily basis, here are some tips you can follow to help you beat the cold and flu this season.

Wash your hands frequently with soap and water to get rid of germs. Skip the antibacterial soap. In fact, in 2016, the Food and Drug Administration banned products containing triclosan and triclocarban – active ingredients in antibacterial soap – from being marketed to consumers.

If soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizers. Make sure you cover your hands completely with the sanitizer, including between your fingers, until your hands are dry.

Avoid shaking hands. This may seem rude, but it can cause the spread of germs. If you must shake hands, have your sanitizer handy or wash your hands as soon as possible afterward.

Go slow on sugar and alcohol consumption. Sugar and alcohol can suppress your immune system, making you susceptible to colds and flu.

Steer clear of colds. Avoid close contact with those who have a cold.

Do not smoke.

Follow these tips and you will not only prevent flu and colds from invading your body, but will keep your body on the path to achieving optimal health. Say no to colds and flu and yes to health!
