I suppose we all have them–the Monday morning blues. The weekend is gone, your time of rest and relaxation is over and you are faced with a million things requiring your attention. Whether you are a busy housewife or a busy executive, you may not look forward to some of the tasks you must perform. Mundane though some of them may be, you may need to set your priorities so you can fulfill them as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Quite simply, you need wisdom and strength — that can only from God — to make it through the day.
I’ve put together some passages of scripture that may be helpful on days like this:
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3: 5 – 6
This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. Isaiah 48 : 17
The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Isaiah 58: 11
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. John 16: 13
For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2: 6
Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 24: 4 -5
As you go through your day, remember you are not alone. If you need wisdom, James 1 : 5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
